Workshop “Innovation for biocompatibility evaluation”, held on May 12, 2022
On May 12th 2022 the workshop on “Innovation for biocompatibility evaluation” was successfully held both physically at University of Milano-Bicocca and online.
The workshop was organized in the framework of the H2020 FET project In2Sight.
Prof. Arti Devi Ahluwaia from Center 3R and University of Pisa gave an insightful talk on “The 3rs in Italy. Where we are.”
She pointed out that “We need to push the acknowledgment of the principle of the 3R’s in teaching as well in research to educate a new class of researchers“. “Our vision is to make people understand that the 3R’s (refine, reduce and replace) is also fully equivalent to Rigorous, Responsible and Reproducible“.
Prof. Paolo Pescio from Eurofins Labs and UNI presented the current status of “Standardisation for biocompatibility: where we are in ISO 10993”.
Prof. Giuseppe Chirico from the University of Milano Bicocca, who is the Coordinator of In2Sight, presented recent research results on “Microfabricated windows for the validation of biomaterials”.
