Located in Israel’s cultural, financial, and business heartland, Tel-Aviv University is the largest comprehensive research university in Israel.

The Department of Biomedical Engineering, BME, is a center of excellence in medical and biological research with engineering tools and approaches.
Fields of expertise in the department include MRI and image processing, biological and biophysical modelling, tissue engineering, bio-photonics, synthetic biology, brain research and more.
Faculty members include a majority of young professors, a few ERC winners and a growing number of female faculty members (currently, 33% of the faculty members).
